 - Tested and Working on VM 1.1.3

Hi Pepo,

I've installed a fresh Joomla 1.5.9 and Virtuemart 1.1.3, added few products, installed the slideshow module, and everything was working perfectly with no errors in error log.

I've also updated a client web site which is still Joomla 1.5.6 with VM 1.1.3 using built-in VM Update Check function under Admin tab, added few products, and then when i check, nothing is broken, images were showing, and no errors in log.

Please post a link so I can examine what's wrong.

Regards
Pepo

 - Not working on product page IE7+
2009-02-16 11:28:21
Hi There,

Great module. Works perfect in FF, opera, safari and chrome. But... in IE7+ and 8 beta, the module is working good on category browse page in Virtuemart 1.1.3. (Joomla 1.5.9.) but not on the product detail pages (Flypage). That's the only bug I discovered. Only in IE.

Any suggestions? Solutions?

Regards,
Gabriel

Hi Virgil,

Thank you for your reply, but I solved the problem (I think).

It had to do with a script error from one of my other Joomla modules. This was a paid module, so the guys made a bugfix for it.

Regards and till further notice,
Gabriel

I obtain this address in the address line of the browser: http://name/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=25&category_id=65&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=63, and problem with the mapping in Opera and Firefox. As to make so that would be as follows: http://name/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=25&category_id=65&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=63 ? You will excuse for my English.

You will forgive, your editor decoded ampersands. In the first case they are recorded as follows: & a m p ; . The secondly it is simple of & .

 - Should work anyway

hi,

yes the ampersands in url show on firefox and opera address bar but it should work perfectly fine.

here is an example web page

however, it still need to be fixed though.

thanks for reporting.

one thing you can do is to make your urls human readable or search engine friendly as seo people call it by installing sh404sef so you won't see the ampersands in urls.

Thank you very much!
yes, sh404SEF solved the problem, but I do not use this for the specific reason. This problem becomes visible, if we go into the store through the different points of the menu of Joomla.Itemid of page simply is not considered. If we by hand remove in the address bar a m p ; before Itemid then everything to become well.

I am having the same problem. I have enabled SEF URL's in Joomla, and installed SH404SEF and the slide show still does not show up. I hope it is something simple that I am missing.

hi Shep,

try disabling SEF in Joomla leaving SH404SEF enabled.

anyways, the slideshow should work with or without SEF.

please look in your error logs and paste any errors related to the slideshow.

Is it possible to manually install this module?
Virgil
 - Manual Update Possible

Yes it is possible through ftp, in fact it is recommended to do so when you have several slideshows running and don't want to lose the config. Just overwrite the files.

I just installed Joomla http://rapid4me.com/?q=joomla+tutorial yesterday, and I was messing around with it for a while, got it to look exactly how I wanted it, and now today I'm getting the message "PLEASE REMEMBER TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE INSTALLATION DIRECTORY.".....I've removed the directory since yesterday. Am I missing something?
Virgil

Installation directory should be removed after installation to prevent re-installation of your joomla.
