Configuration
Displaying the Module
- Select from the top menu of your Joomla administrator panel: Extensions -> Module Manager
- Locate and click on the Virtuemart Product Slideshow module
- Change the Title and select Yes for Show Title if necessary
- Select Yes for Enabled to display the module
- Select or type in the desired Position where the module should appear
- Click on the Save button on the Module Manager toolbar
At this stage, you should see a slideshow of your Virtuemart products on your page provided that the Position specified was included in your template/layout. By default, the module is configured to show the latest 5 products alternating at 5 seconds interval using "Ken Burns Effects" with product name as caption.
Setting Module Parameters
- Select from the top menu of your Joomla administrator panel: Extensions -> Module Manager
- Locate and click on the Virtuemart Product Slideshow module type mod_vmproductslideshow
You should now see the Module Parameters panel like the image below:
Module Class Suffix: a string that gets appended to the css class of the module, this allows styling of individual or multiple slideshow module instances at once.
Instance Suffix: a string that gets appended to the slideshow javascript variable names to make each instance unique, this allows showing of multiple slideshows on a single page.
Width: width of the slideshow in pixels.
Height: height of the slideshow in pixels.
Show Progress Bar: shows a visual loading progress bar of loading product images.
Show Captions: shows the animated captions area.
Caption Height: height of the animated captions area in pixels.
Caption Background Color: background color of the animated captions area.
Show Product Name: shows the product name if available inside the animated captions area.
Product Name Size: size of the product name.
Product Name Color: color of the product name.
Show Product Short Description: shows the product short description if available inside the animated captions area.
Product Short Description Size: size of the product short description.
Product Short Description Color: color of the product short description.
Product Category Id: slideshows products in a specific category (0 - all categories).
Featured Products Only: only slideshows products that are marked special.
Sort Order: the order in which products are shown in the slideshow.
Number of Products: the number of products to use in the slideshow.
Product Image Type: show thumbnail or full image.
Dynamic Product Image Resizing: dynamically resizes the images, set to No if you are experiencing problems with effects.
Slide Duration: Amount of time in milliseconds that each slide should stay in the display.
Slide Effect: select from 6 effects to apply for displaying slides.
Pan Percent: the amount of panning for Panning and Combo effects (0 to 100%).
Zoom Percent: the amount of zooming for Zooming and Combo effects (0 to 100%).
Push/Wipe Transition Type: select from 30 mootools transition types for Push/Wipe effects.
Transition Duration: amount of time in milliseconds that a transition animation should run in between slides.
